After the start of the crisis in Syria, the Islamic Republic of Iran considered this situation to be contrary to its national interests and, in response to the official invitation of the Syrian government, decided to send advisory forces to that country. For this purpose, a military university dispatched forces to Syria. The present study aims to identify and examine the dimensions of the advisory role of a military university in confronting Takfiri groups in Syria. This research is applied in terms of objective and is a quantitative study, conducted using a descriptive-analytical method. To conduct this research, a researcher-made questionnaire was used to investigate the dimensions of the advisory role of a military university in three dimensions: operational, training, and organizational structure. The statistical population of this research includes all commanders, instructors, professors, and experts of a military university who have a history of confronting Takfiri groups in Syria. Data processing was performed using SPSS software, and the findings were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The sample size was determined to be 60 people through a census. The reliability of the research was confirmed using Cronbach's alpha, and its validity was face validity, meaning that experts and specialists in the field provided their opinions on its validity. The research findings indicate that a military university can play an advisory role in three dimensions: operational, training, and structure and organization.
