[English]

The primary objective of this research is to present a structural model for the quality of life of veterans based on value orientation and considering the mediating role of spiritual well-being. This descriptive-correlational study was conducted with the participation of 383 war veterans, selected via convenience sampling from among visitors to the Veterans Affairs Center. Data were collected using the Quality of Life Questionnaire, the Value Orientation Scale, and the Spiritual Well-being Questionnaire. Data analysis was performed using structural equation modeling through SPSS version 26 and AMOS version 24 software.
The results of the structural equation analysis confirmed the relationship between quality of life and value orientation with the mediating role of spiritual well-being. The overall model fit indices (RMSEA=0.079 and χ²=275.693) indicated that the proposed model had a good fit with the sample data. Specifically, value orientation (β=0.761, P<0.001) and spiritual well-being (β=0.821, P<0.001) had a significant positive impact on the quality of life of veterans. Furthermore, spiritual well-being played a mediating role in the relationship between value orientation and quality of life, with an indirect effect size of 0.6247.
Consequently, spiritual well-being, as a mediating factor, plays a key role in moderating the effect of value orientation on the quality of life of veterans and can be considered an effective component in enhancing the living standards of this group.
